Calum has been with London CLT since 2011, when the organisation was bidding for the first CLT site in London at St Clement’s. As Communities and Campaigns Director, he has taken the organisation from having its first site identified, to actively organising campaigns in 11 neighbourhoods, 6 of which have secured sites, including in Lewisham, Southwark, Croydon, Lambeth, Redbridge and on the Olympic Park. Calum is also a Senior Organiser with Citizens UK, the organisation that formed London CLT in 2007. In this role he has trained over 400 community leaders across the UK in organising and helped found Peckham Citizens, an alliance of 11 community organisations that work together to build the capacity of local people to tackle injustice in their neighbourhood. Calum guest lectures at a number of academic institutions in the UK, holds a BArch (Part I) from the University of Sheffield and a Professional Diploma in Architecture (Part II) from the Sir John Cass School of Architecture.
Calum lives in Peckham, South London. Having lived south of the river all his life, helping others organise and fight to stay in the neighbourhood they call home is a major part of why he does this work.
