Jawad Anjum

Jawad is the Communities Manager at London CLT. His role involves supporting communities at different stages of our work.  This includes facilitating community steering groups during the design and build process of CLT homes, guiding prospective residents through allocations and handover, and working with CLT residents to set-up resident management structures and build relationships in their new neighbourhood.  Jawad also supports the team with key relationships and strategy throughout London and Europe.

Formerly a Mechanical Engineer in the energy industry, he had a career change where he worked as a Community Organiser in south London, supporting residents of social housing to form groups and take collective action on issues affecting them. Poor housing was the issues most pressing for the communities he worked with and that’s why he came to London CLT – to support a process that puts residents and communities at its heart.

Throughout his studies and working life, he has volunteered as an activist for various organisations such as a renters’ union in London, Amnesty International in Dublin, and Global Justice Now in Glasgow where he campaigned on issues of human rights and social and political justice.
